Adam D. Rossen, founder and CEO of Rossen Law Firm, joined the faculty of Experts on DUI 2026. On the Road Again: Steering Through Florida DUI Law, the premier continuing legal education program of the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar. The two-day program was held live and in person on May 7-8, 2026, at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel in Tampa, Florida.
A former prosecutor who now leads one of South Florida's most technology-forward criminal defense firms, Rossen used his session to teach a room of fellow attorneys, defense lawyers, and prosecutors alike something most of them had never been shown: how to put artificial intelligence to work in real DUI cases.
His presentation, "AI That Actually Works for DUI Lawyers: Practical Tools You Can Use in Your Practice Today," deliberately avoided the usual futurism. Instead of predicting where legal technology might go, Rossen walked attendees through tools they could open on Monday morning.
"DUI defense is one of the most technical areas of criminal law," said Rossen. "The attorneys who serve clients best are the ones who stay current not just on the law, but on the tools that can help them understand evidence faster, prepare more thoroughly, and protect their clients more effectively."
A Practical Look at AI in DUI Defense
DUI cases turn on dense, technical evidence. Including breath-test logs, maintenance records, body-cam footage, NHTSA field-sobriety protocols, toxicology reports, and hours of deposition testimony. Rossen's session showed how attorneys can use AI to move through that material faster and with sharper focus, without surrendering the human judgment that defense work demands.
The presentation covered several categories of technology in practical, working terms:
- AI-assisted document analysis for reviewing case files, police reports, and supporting records, so attorneys can surface what matters in a file in a fraction of the time.
- Criminal-defense-focused AI platforms built to organize and analyze evidence the way a defense practice actually works.
- AI tools for deposition transcription, summaries, and testimony management, turning long transcripts into searchable, usable analysis.
- Legal research tools that work with real, citable authority, helping attorneys build arguments on solid ground rather than guesswork.
- Honest cost comparisons for attorneys weighing whether (and where) to add AI tools to their practice.

The session reflected a conviction that runs through everything at Rossen Law Firm: technology should make legal services better. Faster review, clearer client communication, more thorough preparation, while advocacy and judgment remain firmly human. Learn more about how our firm uses technology in criminal defense.
About Experts on DUI 2026
Experts on DUI 2026, On the Road Again: Steering Through Florida DUI Law, was a comprehensive two-day seminar for criminal defense attorneys, prosecutors, and other lawyers who handle DUI matters in Florida. Presented through the Criminal Law Section of The Florida Bar (Course No. 9555), the program was approved for 14 CLE credits. Including 1 Ethics credit and 1 Technology credit, as well as 14 certification credits each in Criminal Appellate Law, Criminal Trial Law, and Juvenile Law.
The faculty drew attorneys and forensic professionals from across Florida and the country. Sessions addressed Florida DUI case-law updates, boating under the influence, toxicology and lab reports, breath-testing technology, traffic stops, accident reconstruction, FLHSMV hearings, pretrial strategy, appellate preservation, jury selection, and cross-examination of DUI officers using NHTSA manuals. The program was co-chaired by David M. Robbins, Susan Cohen, and Keeley R. Karatinos.
That Rossen was invited to teach the AI session at a program of this caliber speaks to both the rising importance of the subject and his standing among Florida's DUI bar.
