Shlomi Presser is a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney at Rossen Law Firm. For nearly 25 years, he has dedicated his career to defending people accused of crimes throughout South Florida, including clients facing serious state and federal charges.
Shlomi began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Broward County Public Defender’s Office before founding his own private criminal defense practice, Presser Law Firm, in 2005. As the owner of his own firm for more than 20 years, Shlomi handled every stage of criminal defense representation, from client counseling and investigation to motion practice, trial, federal court litigation, appeals, and post-conviction matters.
Over the course of his career, Shlomi has tried more than 100 cases to verdict and has handled a wide range of criminal matters, including misdemeanors, DUIs, drug crimes, serious felonies, homicide cases, federal criminal cases, appeals, and post-conviction issues. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, bringing valuable federal experience to Rossen Law Firm’s federal defense team.
Shlomi also has significant experience helping clients after a conviction has already occurred. His post-conviction work includes reviewing prior cases, identifying legal issues, challenging unlawful convictions or sentences, and fighting for clients who are still seeking justice after trial. This experience is especially valuable for clients and families seeking counsel after a case did not end as they hoped.
After decades of running his own practice, Shlomi chose to join Rossen Law Firm because he saw something rare: a criminal defense firm with the business systems, technology, team support, and operational strength to serve clients at a high level without losing the personal attention that great defense work requires. In addition to his trial and post-conviction work, Shlomi has written appellate briefs. One of his most notable appellate victories came in the 2013 case of Abel Martinez v. State of Florida, where he won a new trial for his client at the Fourth District Court of Appeal. After winning the appeal, Shlomi took the case to trial and secured a Not Guilty verdict, clearing his client’s name.
Shlomi is known for being an aggressive litigator, a fierce advocate, and an attorney who treats his clients like family. His work is driven by a deep commitment to justice, constitutional rights, and making sure every client has a powerful voice in the criminal justice system.

I am a trial lawyer, a father, a husband, and a steadfast advocate for people accused of crimes.
I am also an immigrant who became an American citizen, a first-generation college graduate, and someone who deeply values the freedoms and constitutional rights we have in this country. Those rights are not just words on paper to me. They are protections that must be defended every day, especially when someone is facing the power of the criminal justice system.
For nearly 25 years, I have fought to make sure my clients are not trampled by that system. I believe every person accused of a crime deserves a strong defense, a fair process, and an attorney who will stand beside them when the pressure is at its highest.
I am fluent in Hebrew, which allows me to help Hebrew-speaking clients and families feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the legal process.
Why I Do This Work
My commitment to criminal defense comes from personal experience.
Growing up in South Florida in the late 1980s and early 1990s, I was often stopped and harassed by law enforcement for no real reason other than being a teenager with nowhere specific to be. I remember being pulled over, removed from my car, searched, questioned, and then let go when nothing was found.
That powerless feeling stayed with me.
When I got to college and began studying criminology, I started to understand that what I had experienced was not just frustrating. It was wrong. I learned that our constitutional rights give us more power than most people realize, but only if someone is willing to protect them.
That realization led me to criminal defense, and I have never looked back. This work gives me the opportunity to stand up for people when they feel powerless and to make sure the government is held to its burden every step of the way.
