Susan Denning is a Criminal Defense Attorney at Rossen Law Firm, where she represents clients facing criminal charges throughout South Florida. A Miami native whose family roots in the area go back generations, Susan has a deep love for Florida and the diverse communities that make South Florida such a unique and meaningful place to live.
Before joining Rossen Law Firm, Susan served as a trial attorney with the Office of the Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami, where she represented clients in misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony cases. She later served as an Assistant Attorney General for Children’s Legal Services in Broward County, litigating dependency cases and advocating in highly sensitive, high-stakes matters involving families and children.
Susan brings a steady, thoughtful, and service-driven approach to criminal defense. She understands that people come to Rossen Law Firm during some of the most stressful moments of their lives, and she is committed to making sure every client feels heard, respected, and supported.
Who I Am
I am a Miami native, a mother, an attorney, and someone who has always felt called to serve others.
My roots in South Florida run deep. My grandparents met in Miami Beach in the 1930s and built their lives here, and that history has shaped my love for this state and the people who call it home. South Florida is a true melting pot, and I have always appreciated the mix of cultures, backgrounds, stories, and experiences that make this community so interesting and special.
Outside of my work as an attorney, my most important role has been being a mother to my two children. That role has shaped how I see people, families, and the challenges they face. It has made me more patient, more grounded, and more committed to helping people move through difficult moments with dignity.
I’m also an animal lover and proud dog mom. When I’m not working, I enjoy boating, traveling, reading, and playing tennis. Those things help me stay balanced and remind me how important it is to protect the future our clients are fighting for.
Why I Do This Work
I found early in my career that public service and helping others were the most fulfilling parts of my professional life. Whether I was defending clients as an Assistant Public Defender, advocating for children and families as an Assistant Attorney General, or volunteering in my community, I have always been drawn to work that allows me to stand beside people when they need support.
Criminal defense matters because one accusation can affect everything: your family, your job, your reputation, and your future. I believe people deserve to be treated as whole human beings, not just as a charge on a piece of paper.
